Surrender YourselfSurrender is never looking back. Though what’s behind is familiar and beckoning, and what’s in front is at least only a dream, it is unbroken steps forward. And each step not blundering and determined, but care fully placed and happy. The first step in surrender is to put your foot on a path, to renounce finally the comfort of the crossroads and opt for a direction. Whatever it may be, the spirit has made a decision. That one step forms the imprint of all that follows. After that come all the intricacies and joys of travelling, the stringency, the economy, the patience, the humor, the companionship. This surrender is remaining always creative. At every second to contribute virtue to the journey - not just to make the best of things, but to make them beautiful. There are enemies of course, but you have to surrender to them too. See their strengths, see their virtues and they die. And if there is no virtue, to be quiet and move on is surrender. The final stage in surrender is flight. Thoughts lifted away completely form the support of relationships - thoughts filled with so much truth that they naturally lift upwards. When thoughts are this clear the means of travel changes. From chugging gently along in the company, humoring difficulties, supporting, being supported, there’s a departure upwards. This is surrender to newness, to a totally different medium of expression, to a point of solitude, but from where the most subtle companionship and assistance can be given. The highest surrender is to become an angel. |
